Michael Boote Artist Dublin Ireland
Michael Boote was born in Thethford, England to Irish Parents. His talent for painting became clear very early on, when he won a prize, age seven, for his first painting, the little red tractor.
After he left school, he went to Art College for a year, but he did not complete the course there, instead he traveled Europe for a year, visiting galleries en route; and on his return, decided to move to Ireland, where he attended Limerick College of Art and design, graduating with an honours degree. It was in Limerick that his first collection of work began to take shape and was finally born.
The work is portrait with abstract, and is painted on hand crafted plaster, lending it a sculpture like quality, when polished it shimmers with subtle light.
The quality of Michael Boote work speak for itself, the intense over-view, is tempered with a compassion and comprehension of his subjects. the impact of the work requires contemplation, but is well rewarding, as it grows on you. Michael has exhibited in Northern Ireland, Kilkenny, and North Dublin, and has sold a significant amount of his work.
At present he lives and works in County Dublin, where he is currently starting a new series of paintings that are purely abstract.
